The costs of buying a Holiday Home at Raylands2023-10-25T11:47:43+00:00

At Raylands we usually have a selection of both new and used holiday homes. Prices tend to start from £25,000 for a used holiday home and new holiday homes start at around £55,000. The price that you pay will be for the holiday home to be fully sited at Raylands – this will mean that the home has been fully tested and checked (gas and electric safe) and plumbed in. The purchase price also includes a TV aerial and a set of steps.

Additional costs that you may need to consider are: Pitch fees (eleven month from approx £4,400 payable annually); insurance; electricity (metered) and gas (bottled or metered LPG depending on which part of the Park your holiday home is sited on).

Optional extras that you may wish to opt for include decking and/or skirting through our recommended supplier; draining down service (optional frost precaution service to drain down/ disconnect then reconnect at start of new season)

Using your Holiday Home2019-05-16T12:17:32+00:00

The licence agreement that we hold with the local council allows owners to use their holiday homes for 11 months of the year from February to December (we are closed from January 5th to February 1st every year). Our site licence permits owners to use their holiday home for HOLIDAY USE ONLY. You are not permitted to live at Raylands. You will be required to have a main residential address where you live and pay council tax, this can be in the UK or abroad. You will be required every year to provide us with proof of this address. You cannot receive post at the Park or use the Park address to apply for any council services.

Your agreement with us2019-05-16T12:17:48+00:00

We will give you a written contract explaining all the terms of your purchase and occupancy. The agreement is industry standard documentation produced by the British Holiday and Home Park Association. You should make sure you understand all the terms of the contract. You will also be issued with a set of Park Rules which you will need to adhere to when staying at the park.

Are there any Age Restrictions ? What about children ?2019-05-16T12:18:03+00:00

Holiday Home owners should be 50 or over. Families with young children are not permitted to buy a holiday home on the park but visiting grand children are welcome. This rule is to promote social cohesion on the park which is designed to be a relaxing, peaceful environment for owners to escape to.

Can I rent my holiday home out ?2019-05-16T12:18:19+00:00

Sorry no. To help protect the security of our guests our rules do not permit sub-letting.

Can I bring my dog ?2019-05-16T12:18:33+00:00

Yes dogs are welcome at Raylands, they must however be kept under control. Whilst on the grounds of the park they must also be kept on a lead. We do have a large designated dog walking field opposite the park where dogs are allowed to run free under supervision. Dogs are not permitted in the Clubhouse.

Do I need to maintain the grass around my holiday home?2019-05-16T12:18:46+00:00

No, all of the grounds are maintained by the Raylands team. This way you can simply arrive and relax.

What do I do when I come to sell my holiday home ?2023-10-25T11:55:15+00:00

You should inform us in writing that you wish to sell. If we can agree on a price and we are in a position to buy holiday homes we will buy the holiday home from you. If we cannot agree a price you can sell the holiday home off-site. You cannot sell the caravan on the park without our permission. This process is set out in your agreement with us.
