π¦ A Record Year for Barn Owls at Raylands Park! π¦
We’re thrilled to share some incredible news from Raylands Park β our baby barn owls have now been ringed, and this year has been nothing short of extraordinary.
An amazing seven barn owl chicks have successfully fledged from our nest box, making this a true bumper year. To see so many healthy young owls in one brood is remarkable and a testament to the rich habitat and abundant food sources that our rewilding efforts are helping to create.
Barn owls are one of Britain’s most iconic birds of prey and remain a species of conservation concern, facing challenges from habitat loss and changing land use. That’s why seeing such a successful breeding season here is so encouraging.
The ringing process, carried out by licensed experts, helps conservationists monitor owl populations, track survival rates, and better understand how these magnificent birds are faring in the wild.
A huge thank you goes to everyone involved in helping make Raylands a place where wildlife can flourish. Watching these seven owlets grow has been an absolute privilege, and we can’t wait to see them take to the skies.
Seven baby barn owls. One nest box. An unbelievable conservation success story. πΏπ¦β€οΈ
