Several years ago we began a project to create habitats for owls and other birds of prey at Raylands Park.  The most important step was erecting owl boxes in suitable locations to encourage owls to make their home at Raylands Park.  This has resulted in several breeding pairs returning to Raylands year after year and the birth of some owl babies.  We now get a local expert to come along and ring the owl babies every year so we can try and keep track of them and see where they end up.  This activity has now become an annual tradition with Raylands owners and their grandchildren coming along to witness the occasion and learning more about these beautiful birds
